MYAPPEALCOACH TERMS OF USE

Last updated: October 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MyAppealCoach.com and the AI-powered legal tools offered there (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service or completing any purchase, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. NATURE OF THE SERVICE

MyAppealCoach.com provides AI-powered tools intended to assist licensed attorneys and currently enrolled law students with appellate practice and moot court preparation. It is not a substitute for the independent judgment of a licensed attorney familiar with the facts and applicable law of any particular matter. The Service does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and the site owner or any other person.

2. NO LEGAL ADVICE

Nothing on or produced by the Service constitutes legal advice. The output of any tool on the Service is generated by automated systems and may contain errors, omissions, or fabrications. You bear sole responsibility for reviewing, verifying, and editing all output before using it in any legal proceeding, filing, communication, or other professional work product.

3. NO GUARANTEE OF ACCURACY

AI-generated content can be incorrect. Case citations, statutes, rules, record citations, factual recitations, and substantive arguments produced by the Service must be independently verified against authoritative primary sources before use. The Service may produce citations or quotations that do not exist or that misstate the underlying authority.

4. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

You agree to: (a) verify and edit all output before any use; (b) comply with all applicable rules of professional conduct, court rules, and ethical obligations; (c) maintain the confidentiality of any privileged, work-product-protected, or otherwise sensitive client information you upload, and obtain any necessary client consent before uploading; and (d) not use the Service in any manner that violates applicable law or the rights of others.

5. CONFIDENTIALITY AND DATA HANDLING

Documents you upload are processed for the purpose of producing the requested output. The Service generates its output using third-party artificial-intelligence services, principally Claude AI (provided by Anthropic, PBC), together with text-to-speech providers; your uploaded content and prompts may be transmitted to those providers as part of producing results, and their use of that data is governed by their own terms and policies. The site owner does not claim ownership of your uploaded documents. You should not upload material that you are not authorized to share with third-party AI services.

6. PAYMENTS, SUBSCRIPTIONS, AND REFUNDS

Subscription and one-time charges are processed by Stripe, Inc. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current rate until canceled through the Manage Billing portal accessible from your account. Single-use purchases are non-refundable once redeemed. Refunds for subscription charges are at the site owner's discretion.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site owner is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages from incorrect output, lost data, missed deadlines, professional liability exposure, or adverse outcomes in any legal matter. The site owner's aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to the site owner in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

8. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY OF AI-GENERATED OUTPUT.

9. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

The site owner may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to your account email address or by an on-site notice. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. MOOT COURT SIMULATOR — NAMES, PHOTOS, AND VOICES OF JUDGES AND JUSTICES

For added realism and to help advocates be better prepared and familiar with who they will appear in front of, the moot court simulators use the names, official photos, and a randomly synthesized voice of current and historic judges and justices. These are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any court, judge, or justice. All questions and commentary are generated by artificial intelligence and are randomly assigned to the judges and justices; they do not reflect the views of any actual judge or justice and do not represent that any judge or justice would ask these questions or raise these issues. This is a practice tool and does not provide legal advice.

11. GOVERNING LAW AND VENUE

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
